Do you ever feel alone in your struggles as a mom, like you're the only one treading water through the day?
Are you propping your eyes open with toothpicks because you only had a few hours of sleep last night? Quickly whisking your tantruming toddler out of the grocery store before anyone notices? Sometimes just barely holding on to your sanity as you attempt to make a meal with children hanging off of you? Afraid you’re making a total mess of your children?
Everyone has it SOOO much more together than you... RIGHT?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s just not true.
It might appear on the surface that everyone else has it all together: perfect pictures of perfect children on Facebook. You may THINK they have a perfectly tidy house and a perfectly perfect marriage.
In fact, moms who put up a “perfect” front may just be hiding behind their mask, terrified people will see the pain and imperfection that lies underneath.
We all have our foibles, our struggles, our fears. Our difficulties on this crazy road of motherhood that very, very few of us were fully prepared for until we were right in the middle of it all..
Reaching out to other moms and sharing a bit about your struggles, big and small, can be eye- opening.
When we share, when we are vulnerable we create deeper connections between us as humans and mothers. We also create a space for others to share themselves vulnerably with us.
We learn that we’re really and truly not alone.
Authentic connection is healing. It’s what humans are wired to do. It creates intimacy. It’s the foundation for a strong and stable relationship.
Know that you're not alone. Know that it's not just you. Know that ALL moms struggle and the antidote for that is CONNECTION ❤
