What would it take for you to feel at your best?
Do you find yourself stuck in survival mode much of the time? Feeling tired, lethargic, unmotivated and struggling to get through the day? Perhaps this overall yucky feeling even spills over onto your kids or other family members.
What would it take for you to feel like the best version of yourself?
Many, many moms feel they don't have the time or energy to take care of themselves. It comes last. IF there's time, IF there weren't all the millions of things you need to do for your children every day. It's part of the societal and family belief that many of us were raised with: mothers should be martyrs and give themselves up for the sake of their children.
But what if the opposite were actually true?
What if by prioritizing your self-care you actually had MORE to give your children? Isn't it true that when you feel great inside, you're happier, have more energy, more inspiration, and more patience with your kids?
Martyring yourself and giving up on all that you love isn't the answer to being a great mom.
Integrating self-care into your life can really and truly help you feeling AMAZING. When you fill your own cup, you can give from the overflow. You feel great inside and that greatness will spill over to all of those around you! Self-care allows you to go from survival mode to really and truly thriving.
Self-care isn't just a tool that I teach, I have gone through all this personally. After the birth of my second child, I was exhausted, overwhelmed and anxious. I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hit rock bottom when I (literally) fell out my chair. I knew something needed to change. I needed to count myself in again and remember who I was beyond motherhood in order to get my energy and happiness back. AND to be a more present and loving mother to my children. Instead of just talking about self-care I began to walk the talk. I began to reach out for support, share my stories and my feelings. I started exercising and eating better. I asked for help in order to get back to the things I loved: yoga, time outdoors, art, music. I learned that my children would be ok without me for a bit, in fact that it was actually important for them to spend time with others. And that it was really great for them when I came back as a happier, more vital version of myself!
And the difference was nothing short of amazing. How I feel on a daily basis now is indescribably different than how I felt before I started my self-care journey. I feel happier, more patient, energized and alive! I have better boundaries and I've learned what it means to value myself AND my children. I LOVE being able to share self-care tools and support mothers to become the best versions of themselves.
In a self-care coaching session (offered either online or in-person at my Penticton office), we'll work together to develop a customized individual self-care plan for you to get back to feeling like YOU again (or maybe even for the first time?)
We'll take into account what stage of motherhood you're at (your self-care plan will be very different if you're a mother of a newborn vs. a mother of a 9-year old!) as well as any other duties and stressors in your life.
You'll learn to identify your limiting beliefs and move past them. You'll learn how to fit self-care into your life even when it feels like there's no time (believe me, it IS possible!) You'll learn new tools that really and truly work for you in both realms of physical and emotional self-care. Learn how it's possible to feel more energized, lighter, and happier than you can imagine.
Self-care has a huge impact on physical and mental health as well as relationships. Let's get you to a place where you can THRIVE as a mom and a woman!
